Volunteer Opportunities with Shropshire Rural Support
Following two highly successful volunteer information evenings, Shropshire Rural Support is delighted to share details of three volunteer roles that are now available. These opportunities are ideal for people who want to make a meaningful difference to the lives of individuals and families across Shropshire’s rural communities.
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, helping us provide vital support to those facing the unique challenges of rural life. Whether you have time, skills, or enthusiasm to offer, there is a role where you can make a real impact.
Current Volunteer Vacancies (please click on the title for the full description)
Fundraising Volunteer
As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll help raise vital funds to support the work of Shropshire Rural Support. From pouring cups of tea to helping set up functions, running raffles, welcoming guests, and encouraging people to support our cause, you’ll play a key part in increasing SRS’s fundraising income and community presence.
This is a fun, varied, and rewarding role so perfect for anyone who enjoys being active and meeting people.
Support Volunteer
As a Support Volunteer, you will provide a free, confidential, and compassionate support service to farmers, their families, and people living in rural Shropshire. Many individuals contact SRS during times of anxiety, stress, bereavement, or difficulty with family, personal, or business-related challenges.
Your role is to walk alongside them, listening without judgement, offering emotional support, and helping them move toward stability, confidence, and independence.
Community Engagement Volunteer
As a Community Engagement Volunteer, you’ll help “fly the SRS flag” at agricultural shows, rural events, community fairs, and other public gatherings across Shropshire. Your presence helps us reach farmers, families, rural workers, and supporters who may not yet know about the confidential help we provide.
This is a sociable, rewarding role for anyone who enjoys talking to people, being outdoors, and representing a meaningful local charity.
Get Involved
Volunteering with Shropshire Rural Support is a rewarding way to give back to your local community, meet like-minded people, and support the wellbeing of rural Shropshire.
If you are interested in any of these roles or would like to find out more, we would love to hear from you.
