Charity Boxing Match Approaches

Oliver, 19, decided a charity boxing challenge was a great way to try something new while raising money for good causes.
Outside boxing, he enjoys game shooting and working his springador, Goose. He has completed his first few weeks of training and says it is going well, although maintaining a high level of fitness has been the biggest challenge. As fight night approaches, he is feeling excited and prepared.
Supporting the farming community
Oliver chose Shropshire Rural Support because he understands the pressures facing farmers through his own work in agriculture.
He said: “I believe it is a good thing to support Shropshire farmers, especially now more than ever. Working in the farming industry myself, I have seen the stress and worry most farmers have been under, with yields being down and ground conditions being very unfavourable.”
Shropshire Rural Support provides free, confidential help to farmers, farming families and rural communities across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, helping people navigate difficult times and reminding them they are not alone.
Oliver hopes his challenge will help ensure farmers can access support when they need it.
The charity boxing event takes place on Saturday 21st November 2026 at The Buttermarket in Shrewsbury, with fights across a range of skill levels, all raising money for different charities.
